Carl Case was a police officer placed on suspension, He had unwittingly allowed a crew of gangsters to escape custody. Carl used this time to clean his attic and found his grandfather's war memorabilia.
Carl’s grandfather had officially been a fighter pilot during World War II, but when Carl placed the strange helmet on his head and felt the surge of energy he realized his Grandfather had been the Golden age super hero The American Bullet.
The helmet granted Carl the ability to manipulate Sheen energy. Carl could defy gravity, fly at blinding speeds, lift impossibly heavy objects, and deflect gunfire if he knew to intercept it.
Carl decided he should use his grandfather's helmet to clear his name and capture the criminals that had escaped him.
Rather than the bright red and gold leotard, Carl donned his grandfather's old bomber jacket and began his career as a superhero.
Tracking the gangsters to their hideout Carl faced them in a violent showdown, despite a lot of property damage he was victorious.
Thinking the papers would laud him as a hero Carl was shocked to read the headline bullet headed vigilante responsible for major property damage.
Carl continued to fight crime, referring to himself as The American Bullet, but the public continued to call him Bullet-head (a name referring to someone of low intelligence) much to his chagrin.
Flight: The helmet allows the wearer to manipulate sheen energy. With this, they can defy gravity and fly at speeds.
Deflection: If the wearer isn’t caught off guard he can focus an invisible field of sheen energy to repel approaching objects (such as bullets or other projectiles).
Super Strength: (But Not Really) The wearer can manipulate the gravity around objects he is touching, this makes him appear much stronger than he is.
Heightened Senses: The helmet provides a 360-degree view and allows the wearer to see in darkness.
Kinetic Damage Feild: The American Bullet hurls himself into danger. Fortunately, he can also create a damaging field around his body that repulses matter around him.
Environmental Protection: While moving the helmet protects the wearer from harm such as drowning, fire, or radiation.
Helmet: Without his helmet, Carl is just a regular person.
Gullible: Carl Case is fairly easy to trick or cajole.
